Typical problems of Mazda CX-7 (2006–2012)

  • 1. Engine problems

1.1. Increased oil consumption (2.3 Turbo)

Symptoms: Decrease in oil level between changes, smoke from the exhaust pipe.

Causes: Coking of piston rings, wear of oil scraper rings.

Solution: Use high-quality oil, timely replacement, in difficult cases - major engine repair.

1.2. Turbine overheating

Symptoms: Reduced power, noise from the turbine.

Causes: Malfunctions of the cooling system or untimely oil change.

Solution: Regular maintenance, installation of a turbo timer.

1.3. Timing chain problems

Symptoms: Extraneous sounds from the engine area, deterioration in dynamics.

Causes: Stretching of the chain, wear of the tensioner.

Solution: Replace the timing chain every 100-120 thousand km.
