X-Trail T32: Common Wiring and Electrical Problems

Corrosion of connectors and contacts

Especially in areas exposed to moisture (underhood, fuse boxes, headlights, taillights).

This is manifested by headlight flickering and failure of signals or sensors.

Blown fuses

Most often caused by a short circuit in the wiring harness or by additional equipment (radio, alarm).

Damaged wiring harnesses

Chafing of wires in doorways, trunk lid, and under the hood.

Can lead to failure of power windows, locks, or taillights.

Failures in the BCM (Body Control Module)

Responsible for controlling the lights, alarm, central locking, and power windows.

The cause is often poor connections in the connectors.

Alternator and charging system wiring faults

Loose connections or damaged wires can cause battery charging issues.

Sensor malfunctions

In particular, the ABS sensor, parking sensors, and 360° camera.

Often associated with damaged or corroded wiring.

Ground issues

Poor ground connections lead to erratic malfunctions, including instrument cluster flickering, electrical failure, and dashboard errors.
